If you have ever been bullied before you know how it feels. Recently, I have been harrassed by this person at my school and it has sort of took an emotional toll on me. I have been having these weird symptoms such as
- stomach pains
-weird headaches
- nausea
- heart beating a little faster
-sweating
- feeling angry
-muscle aches
All of these symptoms have to do with how your body reacts to stress. I did not find this out until today while looking at "symptoms of stress" online. I did not realize that such a seemingly "small" issue was so huge until I started being bullied. Tips for if you are being bullied (from someone who has been through it)
- Find someone you trust ( a parent, an admin., a counsler, etc.) and talk to them. Make sure to update them every time you were threatened or encountered by the bully.
- Stand up for others who are being bullied but know that there are consequences- Yes standing up for your best friend is a good idea but oftentimes the bully may turn from your friend to you in order to try and make you back down.
- If you think the bully has a weapon go to your teacher/ administrator immediately.
- Take self defense classes or learn the basic pressure points- If you were in a case where the bully won't leave you alone and swings at you it is helpful to know where to kick or punch in order to leave the bully on the ground. <in a fight avoid the face unless completely necessary and never fight for revenge only for self defense>
- Talk to the teachers and let them know what is going on but do it privately when there is no-one in the group around otherwise you may be targeted even more.
- When being encountered by a bully look them right in the eye and speak to them in a calm voice. Avoid whining or pleading because it puts off an I'm weak vibe.
- If you just can't get away from the bully ask to move schools or take school online <this is the last resort>
